Real objects are scanned, digital objects are designed virtually, glyphs, marks and patterns emerge from high dimensional space. These are then translated into the physical world and take on the dysfunction of materiality. The heavy, wet, honesty of clay. Sometimes the reverse happens. Hand built forms rise in the image of virtual inspiration. On the surfaces, digital artifacts share space with 3D printing lines, the knocks and scratches of physical handling and the organic patinas of glazing and firing. Objects and images adorned with high and low brow technological scarring.
